Common questions
Know before you plug in
Quick answers on compatibility, outlets and charging speed.
Which MotiveX charger fits my EV?
Start with your vehicle connector, maximum AC charging rate and the outlet available where you park. Most current Australian EVs use a Type 2 AC connector.
Do I need a 10A, 15A or 32A outlet?
A 10A outlet is the most common but charges more slowly. A compatible 15A outlet supports faster portable charging, while 32A equipment must be used with a correctly installed dedicated outlet.
Do I need my own cable at public chargers?
Untethered public AC chargers usually require your own Type 2 to Type 2 cable. DC fast chargers normally have a cable attached.
How quickly will my EV charge?
Charging time depends on the outlet, charger output, vehicle onboard charger and battery level. Your EV will only draw up to its supported maximum.
Can I use a V2L adapter with any EV?
No. Vehicle-to-load support and connector requirements vary by model. Check the product compatibility details before ordering.
Can MotiveX help before I order?
Yes. Contact the MotiveX team with your EV model, outlet photo and intended use for practical product guidance.
